Neighbors 4 Neighbors is working to provide relief to Haiti after the devastating earthquake felt on August 14th.
Since 1992, Neighbors 4 Neighbors has stepped up to crises both at home and abroad from Hurricane Andrew to Dorian and most recently the Surfside Building Collapse. We have been able to mobilize millions in aid thanks to our wonderful neighbors, just like you.
We are proud to announce we are teaming up with Team Rubicon a veteran led crisis response team.
Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service by leveraging their skills and experience to help people prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. Founded following the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the organization has grown to over 140,000 volunteers across the United States and has launched over 800 operations both domestically and internationally. We were honored to work with them as well.
Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, Team Rubicon has not only pivoted to be able to continue to deliver disaster response and rebuild services in core mission areas but has also expanded their scope of missions to meet community needs brought about by COVID. Current update on Haiti operations:
A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti Saturday morning about 125KM from Port-au-Prince. Tropical Depression Grace also passed through the area earlier this week bringing wind and rain
Team Rubicon has deployed an advanced reconnaissance team to conduct a site assessment of hospitals to decipher needs in Les Cayes.
The team is meeting with local hospitals and leaders to assess needs, feed information back into the system, and coordinate a response.
Team Rubicon is working in coordination with Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and other long-standing and respected NGOs in the country.
